Changes to R&D Tax Incentive application submission

The Federal Government and Innovation Science Australia have introduced a new online portal for the submission of R&D tax incentive applications for the financial year ending 30 June 2021.

The new portal will require each company’s principal authority (director) to access the portal using their own MyGovID. In some cases access to the portal has required a number of steps. There are outlined below:

  1. The principal authoriser (director) will need to obtain a myGovID by downloading the app and verifying their personal identity on that app.
  2. Where the principal authoriser is not recognized by the platform, the principal authoriser will need to contact the Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). In that case, the principal authoriser will need to call 1300-287-539 and complete an identification process.
  3. Once that is active, the authoriser will be able to log into the R&DTI customer portal with their myGovID and access that form. A further step will be required to authorise your consultant or other individuals within the organisation to access that form.
