Investment FAQ – How is Investment Performance Determined?

It is vital that investors understand the interplay between fees and investment returns. Investment returns should always be calculated net of fees paid. Furthermore, fees should be considered within the context of the investment returns delivered.

Good advice is rarely cheap, but will often pay outsized returns to investors given the compound nature of long-term investment returns. It is often rightly said that ‘past investment returns are no guarantee of future returns’, but an investment managers credentials can be gleaned by their past performance relative to a respective asset class benchmark such as the ASX200 Accumulation index.
